A quiet, grey, and silver dream,
Where water meets the early beam.
A veil of vapor, soft and slow,
Hides the depths that lie below.
The gulls are silent, foghorns moan,
A sea-born world, I stand alone.
Then through the hazy, dampened air,
A golden sun begins to flare.
The mist retreats, the world wakes free,
Bright with the promise of the sea.
